Waiting patiently…

We added a new ewe to our flock recently.  She is the same breed as our other sheep, but was bred with a Black Welsh Mountain ram.  She is very pregnant – due to lamb any day.  Amalie is a lovely ewe.  She’s friendly and docile, mostly white with black eye patches and a grey spot on one shoulder.  We anticipate that her lambs will be black due to their sire.  Lambs?  Yes, Robert is pretty sure she’s carrying twins – normal for her breed.  I always get a bit anxious around lambing time.  The ewes know what they are doing and are mostly good moms, but I want to be sure they will get help if they need it.
